876 President Street Townhouse – Brooklyn, NY

Records show that the building located at 876 President Street was built in 1920. This multiple occupancy home contains 4,240 sq ft of living space, and was recently completely renovated. Among other adornments, the building features an ornate curved bay window featuring two curved glass hung windows.

Parrett provided a variety of hung window types depending on both the size of a specific window, as well as the specific window’s installation location. Both traditional weight and chain hung windows, as well as concealed spiral balance windows were utilized.

Parrett constructed the windows out of mahogany lumber which were then factory-finished in a custom paint color. Low E glass with a black perimeter spacer was utilized, as well as lacquered brass hung window hardware. A large number of the windows were Variation 6 configuration, exhibiting a true radius shape from the exterior, while the rectangular frame and sash is visible from the interior.

Custom hung window profiles consisted of the exterior casing as well as the hung window sash dimensions which included a unique 7” tall midrail, as seen in the extended circletop units.

Operating curved glass hung windows, one of Parrett’s specialties, were provided with concealed spiral balances to help facilitate installation within the existing opening. Parrett was proud to be a part of this historic renovation process.
